Staalduinen Logistics specializes in the storage, transport, and logistics of liquids, such as lubricants, liquid fertilizers and AdBlue. As a niche player, the company supplies customers in Western Europe via a vast intermodal network and with over 80 tank trucks. The products are unloaded in batches at car garages, filling stations, market gardeners and sea-going vessels.

When a company has been active for over 100 years, it is clear that it is doing something right. Staalduinen is continuously improving processes and taking care of customers by offering the best possible solution for their logistics issues – Day in, day out. This includes great IT solutions. The transport company receives orders from large clients automatically via EDI connections. Until recently orders of medium-sized clients were received via e-mail and entered manually. This led to a loss of valuable time.

Business Development Coordinator Natascha took us back to the challenge of Staalduinen: “We have noticed people don’t like to copy, paste and retype order information. The Automatic Order Entry solution is well known in the market and has already been implemented at over 40 logistics companies. That gives the department so much peace of mind and confidence,” says Natascha enthusiastically.

Faster order processing

Staalduinen has now been live for over 18 months. The time taken to process orders has dropped from 2 hours to half an hour a day. Natascha explains: “That’s just a huge win for us. With the Automatic Order Entry, we are already saving one working day per week. Especially at peak times, it is great that the system takes over the manual work. Even when our regular planner is on vacation, everything just keeps going. It offers us continuity. You see that the planners, who were skeptical at first, now fully embrace the solution. They have more time for optimizing the planning, which in turn increases customer satisfaction. We now convert 95% of our orders automatically and we assume that this will grow to nearly 99%.”
